It’s never too soon to start teaching your children about God and His truths. In Fellowship Kids, our curriculum starts with our toddlers (18-24 months) in our Pat the Bible program. Pat is a puppet who teaches the children that the Bible is true and that they can believe it!

Pat the Bible Picture

Each week your child will get a visit from Pat the Bible where they will hear and sing about one of our four Bible truths: God Made Everything, God Made Me, God Made Families, and God Sent Jesus. Because it takes a toddler hearing something 10-12 times before they retain the information, these 4 lessons are repeated in the same order each month. There are games found below to play at home with your child to build on the lessons. We always sing the same song to get our time started (sing to the tune of Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush), “This is the way we pat the Bible, pat the Bible, pat the Bible.” Patting their Bible communicates that they care for it and should handle it with care.

First Sunday

“God Made Everything” Gen. 1-2

Play the “I Know what God made…” Game.

Say: “I know what God made, God made the sun!” Your child might repeat what you say or name something else God made. Encourage your toddler to think of things God made through your day together.

Second Sunday

“God Made Me” Ps. 139: 13-16

Play the “Who is this?” game.

Look in the mirror with your toddler and say “Who is this? This is (Child’s name). Who make (child’s name) special? God did!” As you play this game frequently, your child will begin to answer the questions him/herself.

Third Sunday

“God Made Families” Gen. 1:26-27; 2:18-25; 4:1-2

Talk about different roles family members play in your home.

Daddy, Mommy, brother, sister, baby. During your day draw attention to members of your family while they are carrying out their roles.

Fourth Sunday

“God Sent Jesus”

Luke 2:1-20; 41-52; 18:15-17, Mark 6:3

Worship with your child.

Teach your toddler the song “Jesus loves me.”

They may be small but most love to sing or be sung to.
